Sheera is a sweet Maharashtrian delicacy made from rava or whole wheat flour. Sheera is made for breakfast or snacks . In many Marathi festival sheera is served a Prasad especially on Satyanarayan pooja , navratri pooja and laxmi pujan. Modak from sheera is also made to serve lord Ganesha. In Satyanarayan pooja mahaprasad banana and basil leaves are added in sheera. Satyanarayan MahaPrasad tastes really good because nice flavor of tulsi and basil leaves. Sugar or jaggery is added in sheera to make it sweet.
